At long last (not long enough, really) we have crossed the pond, moving quite literally from summer to winter.

Laos wound up being spectacular, as advertised by every traveller we met along the way who raved about it and encouraged us to go. Also, and of no small importance, it was home to the best beer in SE Asia. Em still has some photos to post to her sight, but here are the best shots off my camera.

What next, you may ask? Everything hinges somewhat on Em's grad school applications. We'll know by April 15th whether next fall will find us somewhere in the Bay Area or in Karlskrona, Sweden...choices, choices.

Em has a new cell number which she'll be emailing around. I am battling with Verizon and will eventually also have a cell phone again. I will keep you posted.
